Lara has received extensive training in classical piano and voice. For the past decade Lara has been using her gifts in music to serve at her local church, at large Christian conventions, conferences and rallies, at music training conferences and church training workshops. In addition, she has had the privilege of guest singing and speaking at more intimate events such as local church services, women's events and youth events including school chapels. She has sung on various Christian CDs, at Carols at Jenolan Caves, as well as singing in her trio at Christmas in The Rocks in Sydney and at corporate gigs.
At the end of 2008 Lara graduated with a Diploma of Theology from Sydney Missionary & Bible College (SMBC). As well as studying full time, in 2008 Lara was serving in music at churches and conferences, training church musicians, and promoting her new solo album ‘Out of the Depths'. In 2009, Lara will continue her various music ministries as well as teach singing privately and at a Christian school in Sydney. We pray that with God's anointing, her album will continue to be a blessing to many people all over the world.
Lara grew up in Sydney, Australia, with her older and younger sisters. Her parents, sisters and brothers-in-law are all committed followers of Jesus. Lara grew up believing that the only way to get into heaven was by doing 'good' things. When she was 15, Lara came to know the Lord personally as she read the Scriptures, in particular Ephesians 2:8-9, which says, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." She gave her life to Jesus Christ and chose from that moment on to live for Him - the one who made her, loves her, and ultimately, gave His life for her on the cross. Through reading the Bible, God showed her that she couldn't contribute to her eternal salvation and that no matter how good she tried to make life for herself on this earth, that she would one day meet the God who made her, and this universe, face to face. She chose to stand up and be counted among those who trust in the death of Jesus Christ for her salvation, instead of trusting in herself and the things of this world. |
